In most heating processes, it is necessary to detect images and anomalies both thermal and visual in real time such as monitoring the performance of machines in the production system or cleaning performance. However, these processes often cause damage to the camera due to overheating.

In general terms, a retraction system is used as a mechanism of protecting the optical lens component of a camera system from being exposed to high temperatures, which would cause the failure of this component, in the event air or water cooling was lost. Without a functioning automated retraction system, the lens component of these retractable cameras would fail instantly upon the loss of cooling.

CANTY High temperature cameras are different from conventional cameras because the optical lens component are designed to be suitable for high temperature up to 1,370 °C without air cooling system.

The UltraTemperature Camera has air cooling system. It is an air flow that can help to keep the lens clean. If the process is clean enough, this system will stop. Similar to the ExtremeTemperature camera, are designed to be suitable for high temperature up to 1,370 °C. If the cleaning / cooling air fails, there is no instantaneous failure of any components. If the process is operating close to the camera specification upper limit of 1650C, the user will have sufficient time (~2 hours) to either get the air supply up and running again, or to manually remove the camera system from the process.

The cleaning system is important for dusty environment. If the cooling or cleaning system are failure, dirt may accumulate on the quartz board of the camera. This issue will not cause any damage and none of the components fail.

Air Preparation System

CANTY has designed a ready to use air prep system for use with CANTY High Temperature Cameras. The system includes a series of filters and dryer to easily convert plant air into clean dry instrument air. The system is conveniently mounted on an aluminum plate to allow for easy installation. The air preparation system generates clean instrument air for both the camera housing and spray tube.
